One set of skiing equipment consisting of one pair of skis, one pair of ski poles, one pair of boots, and one snow board, one pair of standard water skis or one slalom water ski shall be charged as:
The charges shall be as follows:
- Weight concept: IATA Europe EUR20.00 (USD25.00) per one set of Ski and for intercontinental routes EUR 40.00 (USD50.00) per one set of ski.
- Piece Concept: The charge for ski as an extra piece shall be 33% of the applicable excess baggage (piece) rate.
Note: Charge applies even if with in free baggage allowance.
Golfing Equipment
The policy is one golf free (max 15kgs) if accompanied by passenger. If in excess of 15kgs applicable excess baggage rate will be charged.
Surf Board Equipment
Surfboards longer than 200cms shall be classified as windsurfer.
The charges shall be as follows:
- Weight concept: With in IATA Europe charge EUR40.00 (USD50.00) per one set of Surf Board equipment and for intercontinental routes charge EUR80.00 (USD100.00) per one set of Surf Board equipment.
- Piece concept: 1st piece 50% of the applicable excess baggage (piece) rate, any additional piece or exceeding size (>2m) charge 100% of the excess baggage piece rate.
Note: Charge applies even if with in the free baggage allowance.
Windsurfer,Hang Glider, Skibob, Canoes and Kayaks
The maximum permissible weight for windsurfer and Hand Glider is 46 kgs (99.9 lb).If maximum weight is exceeded, the equipment must be sent as cargo.
The charges shall be as follows:
- Weight concept: With in IATA Europe charge EUR80.00 (USD100) per set and for intercontinental route charge EUR160.00 (USD200.00) per set.
- Piece concept: The charge for each set of windsurfing and Hang-glider equipment shall be 200% of the applicable normal excess baggage (piece) charge.
- For Skibob, Canoes and Kayaks 300% of the applicable normal excess baggage (piece) charge shall be applied.
- Canoes and Kayaks shall not be carried on Q-400 aircraft type.
- Dimension limitation may apply when Canoes/Kayaks are carried on B737 aircraft type. Hence, on B737-700 aircraft type, the package length shall not be more than 85 inches. And on B737-800 aircraft type, the package length shall not be more than 205 inches
- Malawian is not liable for damages to Canoes/Kayaks
- Excess valuation may not be purchased for Canoes/Kayaks

Bicycle–Bike
The charges shall be as follows:

Vaulting Poles
The charge shall be as follows:
- Weight concept: With in IATA Europe charge a flat rate of EUR80.00 (USD100.00) per set and for Intercontinental routes charge EUR160.00 (USD200.00) per set.
- Piece concept: A flat rate of EUR50.00 per set shall apply.

Scuba, Angling or Diving Equipment
Scuba Equipment consisting of one empty cylinder, one regular buoyancy control jacket, mask pressure gauge, one set of fins, one spear gun, snorkel and divers knife and Angling Equipment consisting of one tackle box, haversack or angler basket, one rod, bag or box shall be charged as follows:
- Weight concept: With in IATA Europe charge EUR20.00 (USD25.00) per one set of equipment and for Intercontinental routes charge EUR40.00
(USD50.00) per one set of equipment.
- Piece concept: Charge the applicable normal excess baggage charge per piece.

Kite Charges
The charges shall be as follows for up to 15kg and/or 1,40m.
- Weight concept: IATA Europe charge 40EUR (USD50) per kite and for Intercontinental routes charge EUR80.00 (USD100.00) per kite.
- piece concept: 1st piece charge 50% of the applicable excess baggage (piece) charge, any additional piece or exceeding size (>2m) charge 100% of the normal excess baggage (piece) charge.

If you want to declare the value of checked baggage, the valuation charge shall be assessed at 0.50 United States Dollars for each 100, - United States Dollars or portion thereof.
